There’s a New Breakfast Sheriff in Grapevine

Restaurant critic Luke with his "Dutch Baby"

We tend to be a fairly skeptical family when it comes to most claims — “Best Dry Cleaner,” “Best Service,” “Biggest Selection” — we hear it all the time. So, when we ventured over to the new Original Pancake House in Grapevine, we were skeptical of claims that their pancakes would be truly remarkable.

Their location is a little hard to find, having moved into the former Denny’s location on William D. Tate (close to Hooters and Bone Daddy’s if that helps)  Upon arrival, we were greeted by everyone, including the owners, and the whole staff exuded enthusiasm including our server who wanted to know all our names (and remembered them through the whole meal).

In addition to a wide variety of pancakes, they boast two signature items: the Apple Pancake, a single large pancake smothered with sauteed apples and cinnamon sugar; and the “Dutch Baby.”
