Implosion of Collin power plant in Frisco failed at first, but not 2 hours later

Posted by    |    August 8th, 2011 at 11:14 pm

On July 1st in Frisco something took place that not too many people know about.  A building imploded.

After a two hour wait, the Collin power plant came down in just seconds.  WFAA said that two out of fourteen explosives didn’t go off on the first try.  The head project engineer comments were very odd to me at the time regarding why there was a problem on the first round, but I get it now.

He blamed it on the weather.  This was before we started the 30+ days in a row topping over 100 degrees.  He said the heat magnifies on the steel and really causes things to melt and create problems when blowing up buildings.  The Plano bomb squad was called in for the second try, which was a success. See for yourself, Phillips Creek Ranch has started laying concrete.

Roads are being poured off of Stonebrook as the entry into Phillips Creek as well as a connector between Lebannon and Stonebrook. Republic Property Group is right on schedule with the latest announcement of breaking ground late summer.

West Frisco is one of the most progressive and fastest growing cities in the country as of today. The rolling terrain and character of the land at Phillips Creek will lend itself to an upscale community that will include over one hundred acres of open spaces, several lakes, an extensive creek system and spacious parks and trails.  The first phase of homes is projected to include 250 homes with a price range of $350,000 to $700,000.  (more…)

Bloomfield Homes acquires last 9 lots in the Trails in Frisco

Posted by    |    June 2nd, 2011 at 7:11 pm

The Trails in Frisco off of Teel and Main Street was one of the quickest selling communities in North Dallas in 2006.  Today only 9 lots are available in the private Enclaves at the Fairways.

Custom homebuilders have built homes around the enclaves in the $400,000-$500,000 range.   Now new homes are available starting in the $300’s.  Most of the lots are backing to The Trails golf course.

They currently have sold four with only five lots remaining.  It is a very unique location within the community with great privacy on a golf course.  (more…)

Stonebrook Parkway in Frisco opens today for Stonewater Crossing residents

Posted by    |    May 31st, 2011 at 7:13 pm

The completion of Stonebrook Parkway to FM 423 will create a new easier commute for many in Frisco.  Until today, most commuters took either Lebannon or Main east towards the tollroad.  The new road being completed is exactly what the residents of Stonewater Crossing have been waiting for.

“Stonebrook opening will definitely help the traffic congestion and it will dramatically help our home values as well,” stated Stonewater Crossing resident Lauren Rotowsky.

This new artery will connect to Legacy Drive for now.  It will help tremendously for morning commutes while FM 423 is currently under construction to become a 6 lane highway.  At the end of 2011, plans are to connect Stonebrook directly to the Dallas north tollroad. (more…)

Frisco’s only New Home “Lake” Community is closing out.

Posted by    |    May 25th, 2011 at 7:16 pm

The Landing at Waterstone is down to the last 18 lots to build on in Frisco.  This is a very unique location for a new home community in Frisco with oversized, waterfront lots on the shores of Lake Lewisville, three-car garages, and a private community Amenity Center with an extra large pool, workout facilities, a full kitchen, and plenty of resident accessible community space.

In July of 2010, the community had 52 lots left and today in May 2011 only 18 remain.  “This shows that the location along with the 90 foot lots have been a big draw for buyers relocating to the area,” says sale consultant Adam Raynish.  “Over 80% of all homes sold here have been relos.”

Driving through the community you can see that the homes have a different feel since they are spaced out more than your normal spacing on a new home development.  Starting in the low $300’s this is the last chance to live in a lakeside community in Frisco.

What builder is the most energy efficient in Frisco?

Posted by    |    May 24th, 2011 at 6:26 pm

Your answer: Landon Homes.

Landon Homes in Austin Ridge has created a new standard in the building industry.  Including thicker lumber that holds 57% more insulation than traditional homes, a radiant heat barrier to reduce attic temperatures, and air conditioning systems that exceed Energy Star standards are some of the few standards when building a new home.

The community is a dream for children.  They will enjoy amazing amenities including a three-tiered, resort-style swimming pool with waterfalls and kids’ splash area.  Take a couple steps outside the pool and you will see a pond stocked with fish for a great activity on those summer days. (more…)

Gated Community in Frisco Texas in the $300’s?

Posted by    |    May 23rd, 2011 at 6:28 pm

Last year I drove by a sign on Eldorado that said, “Kingswood”, never once thinking about a new home community.  So one day I turned right and discovered almost a secret hideaway.

Nestled in the heart of Frisco lies the Hills of Kingswood, an exclusive gated community in an ultimate setting of natural beauty. With pristine views set in rolling terrain, you may forget this luxury lifestyle is only minutes from the thriving business and shopping corridors of Frisco. (more…)

Who would live in a Cobb Farm?

Posted by    |    May 20th, 2011 at 6:30 pm

I sure would!

Just west of the tollroad (250 yards) in Frisco Texas is a new home community called Cobb Farm.  It doesn’t have corn or cows though, just beautiful homes.

Starting in the low $200′s for a new home in Frisco is very rare in 2011.  My favorite aspect of this new home community  is the 20 foot spacing between homes. Normally you will find a seven to twelve foot spacing.  It shows!

The builder has opened phase two with 80 additional lots.  “As of today, only 68 are available due to lot holds since June of last year,” says Caren Gualandi, sales associate for Beazer homes in Cobb Farm.

At the intersection of the tollroad and Eldorado there are many conveniences for the residents.  Super Target, Home Depot and even a new Costco has broken ground.

Looking at the community from a value perspective, Standard Pacific homes will also be building in phase two.  They will be priced approximately twenty to thirty thousand dollars higher for the same square footage.

If you are looking in Frisco for a new home, check out Cobb Farm.  You will be impressed!

Frisco Texas is the new Highland Park.

Frisco Texas is showing everyone in DFW that the real estate market is back.

Take the Dallas North Tollroad North, exit Lebanon and go west through Legacy Drive and take a look around.  The new home builders in Austin Ridge in Lone Star Ranch and Village Lakes off of Teal cannot keep a new home through a weekend.  The growth and sales are remarkable with a demand that is easily surpassing the supply.

Landon Homes has scrambled to get 15 new home permits to get ready for the summer months.  Pulte Homes in Waterstone has averaged 4 new home contracts a month for the beginning of 2011. (more…)
