One Thing About Men

Posted by    |    May 29th, 2013 at 12:51 pm

What is that one thing about men that women simply do not understand?  The short film  by Jason Headley entitled Its Not about the Nail, captures the moment with this line in the short video:  “Don’t try to fix it. I just need you to listen.”

YouPlus Dallas conducted its own survey of men and women of Dallas and asked the same question.  What is the one thing about men that women simply do not understand?  Take a look.

Decisions: Content Only Men Would Appreciate

The trailer sets the stage for a series of fun examples of men becoming boys.  From time to time we will feature an episode that will reinforce women’s view of men.

Here is episode 4.  Starting with the first episode of this series made little sense.

Meeting in the Middle

Posted by    |    August 20th, 2012 at 3:00 pm

Have you ever asked this question while dating in Dallas?   When do relationships “begin to end?”

“Meeting in the Middle is about the story of the break up between Ellen William and Adam Barnes and the main setting is their therapist’s office.   Like many women, Ellen starts from the beginning and can recount the slightest detail, while Adam’s recollection is predictably less detailed and he starts from the very end of the relationship.

Slowly, their stories eventually “meet in the middle” revealing why they walked away from their relationship.  Watch “Meeting in the Middle” with your significant other and we hope you will have a few laughs over the silly things that seem to get in the way of relationships.

Directed by: Jason Eberly
Produced by: Tory Nelson

Starring: Deanna Repic, Chris Betz, Kristen Kohaut, Andrea Aspacher, Abi Allwein, and Jeff Berggren.

The Gentleman Shaver

Posted by    |    January 17th, 2012 at 11:14 am

Is it the fact that there is a beautiful woman in a bra that draws the male Dallas viewer into this work by one of our favorites, Ben Briand?  Classy humor, as his beautiful partner frustrates his ability to shave.  Should any man share a bathroom with his partner anyway?

Men are NOT Mind Readers…

So how about we stop treating them like they were?  Recently, a friend and I were at lunch, and she received an upsetting phone call.  Her contractor, a man, had decided not to finish work at one property because he wanted to get started on her other property.  This decision came conveniently after he deposited a five figure check from her.

Sitting across from her at the table, I could sense her frustration.  I observed her hand to her forehead, her wrinkled brow and noted her sighs.  She ended the conversation with, “OK” and looked at me.  I sat silent but gave her my best, “Now what” look.   This is when she said it..

“I KNOW he could tell that I was upset with him.”

Why do women like so many pillows on the bed? Don’t you need just one? These are the kinds of deeply important questions my good friend, Bill Davis, and I discuss on our 20 mile bike rides.  Spinning along the banks of White Rock Lake, we become quite philosophical, pondering the Great Mystery That Is Woman.

So back to pillows. The look, the body language, the placement of pillows, and the number.  In one picture, Molly Nolan captures the essence of what pillows have to offer women.

Now, more than one woman has accused me of staging the picture.   Why?  Simply put, no woman would  allow anybody to actually rest against their pillows.

Guys, just for fun, the next time you are at a friends house, lean against the living room pillows and you will understand my point.

I am confident that there is a deep truth here. Over the next few weeks, we will begin to examine the Pillow from a man and a woman’s viewpoint.  In the meantime, we want to hear from you!
