I’ve become a bit of a fickle fan when it comes to American Idol. I usually watch the first few episodes so angelic voices can tug at my heartstrings while overconfident screechers can make me feel better about my karaoke rendition of “Firework.” Then I drop off while they weed out the mediocre people, returning just to get a feel for the final two, form an opinion, and express it via Twitter. But thanks to the new additions to the judging panel, my viewing habits are about to change. Like when Britney Spears joined the X Factor. Hopes of a catfight between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey (more of a cougarfight in her case) are worth watching for.

One of the worst moments of my young adult life happened this past summer. I had just gotten a kitten and opted to stay home with it instead of going out with real people. While said real people were out, they ran into Sean Lowe, took pictures with him, and crushed me with those pictures via social media. Quality time with a new kitten is okay, but a profile picture with Sean Lowe: priceless.
So it should come as no surprise that I’ve been waiting with bated breath for tonight’s premiere of The Bachelor, partly because of Sean, but mostly because The Bachelor is way more entertaining than The Bachelorette. The girls on these shows are insane. Courtney from the last season was unreal, but so were so many of them. Remember that girl with the blog who totally freaked the first night?
Also, Kacie B. is coming back this season. If Kacie B. doesn’t immediately ring a bell, she made it to the final four during the 16th season of The Bachelor with boring Ben, then got cut, then came back to warn him that Courtney is terrifying.
Upon hearing the news, Ben tweeted, ““Kacie B. is back for Sean’s season?! Ha, I love the producers on this show (you know who you are). I wonder how she is going to do with Sean? I will be watching. Good luck KCB.”
What does that mean, “you know who you are?” Ben is such a tween girl.

Once one of my favorite shows hits its 4th or 5th season, I start to get a little nervous, savoring each episode and character arc as though it may be the last. I had been growing concerned about one of the greatest guilty pleasures of all, ‘True Blood’, especially after hearing that the show’s creator, Alan Ball, would be stepping down as showrunner after the season was up.
