One word: Alico

I just took a listen to one of Dallas’s most interesting local bands, Alico. Their new album, Ecstasy & Apostasy, just had its national release on iTunes and Amazon about a month ago. The songs are cutting edge, full, yet personal. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever heard a song like “The Sixteenth Summer” (Track 2), which fits somewhere in between Journey and the Black Eyed Peas. And to turn up the novelty a notch, Alico is a two-piece. Check them out on Myspace, which has a few choice cuts. Word is that Dallas show dates in support of the album are upcoming. I’ll keep you posted because I know I’m going!
