"Sermon on the Mound" by Eliot Rausch
Dallas, Faith, and the Human Condition
Today, we introduce short film maker Eliot Rausch and his short film, “Sermon on the Mound”. His work is intense and difficult at times to watch.
This short film was inspired by a conversation between Darren Rouanzoin and Eliot Rausch that resulted in a 36 hours of shooting through the parts of Los Angeles tourists from Dallas never see. The images of the poor, of violence, and life are woven together with a monologue from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. The Sermon on the Mount can be read in its entirety Matthew 5, 6 and 7. We reference Wikipedia for those who wish to understand its significance.
We highly recommend viewing this short film in conjunction with this review of Eliot
