The temperature had dropped before gametime, but both teams came out firing as Highland Park traded scores with Woodrow Wilson for the first 20 minutes. As halftime neared, the Scots took over and finished with a flurry to claim their 5th straight Area crown. It was a tough, joyful win for the team, led by an extraordinary rushing performance by Preston Miller, who galloped for 169 yards on just 17 carries plus two touchdowns. Runningback Jackson Hauser also had two TDs, as did QB Brady Burgin who ran for two scores while passing to Hunter Halpin for another. Against a potent passing attack from Woodrow, the HP defense held the Wildcats to just 115 yards in the air and forced three turnovers.
