Wow! The District 10-4A showdown between undefeated Highland Park and undefeated Rockwall-Heath was everything fans expected and more. Yards and points were hard to come by as both teams played exceptional defense throughout the contest. HP took a 24-10 lead into the fourth quarter but Heath roared back and tied the game with just 4:12 left. Heath then scored first in overtime (but had their extra point blocked) putting the pressure on the Scots.

It all came down to a 4th and goal from the 1-yardline. As Blue & Gold Nation held their breath, running back Preston Miller took the ball and charged into a huge pile of linemen … then burst through the wrestling mass to score! Kicker Nick Rose tacked on the PAT and Highland Park stayed undefeated and secured at least a share of the District 10-4A title.
Senior quarterback Brady Burgin continues to shine, racking up 289 yards and 2 TDs on 26-38 passing despite a gashed chin. Wide receiver WIlliam Morris grabbed 10 passes for 92 yards and Hunter Halpin had three big catches, two for touchdowns. Preston Miller fought his way to 45 yards and 2 TDs rushing, including the game winner.
