By any measurement, it was an amazing high school football game, a classic "Friday Night Lights" thriller with two great teams trading punches with glorious, turbo-charged offenses. In the end, John Tyler edged HP by three points to advance to the fourth round of the 4A Texas high school playoffs.

Highland Park's performance was nothing short of inspiring, as the 2011 Scotties overcame injury after injury, including losing quarterback Brady Burgin in the fourth quarter, to mount a heroic last minute surge led by senior Scott Ellerman that fell just a few yards short. For Blue & Gold Nation, who traveled to Waco some 4,00 strong to cheer on their boys, the mood was sheer gratitude for the spectacular season that included 12 wins, a District, Bi-District and Area championship, and many incredible memories.

Sponsored with love and pride by all the HP Football parents!
