What's your idea of a perfect day? For us it's hitting the lake, and Lake Grapevine is one of our go-to spots. Lake Grapevine is HUGE — almost 8,000 acres — and it's truly a "recreational lake" devoted to boating, water-skiing, wind surfing and other aquatic activities. It has three great marinas, and places to rent boats if you don't have one. Many of the Dallas area lakes are so built up with retail and housing construction, there's no beach any more; however, with 146 miles of rolling shoreline and more than nine miles of wilderness trails, Lake Grapevine has beaches for cookouts and is one of the best hike/bike destinations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

We shot this video with our Canon D60s and a couple of well-placed Go Pro cameras to capture the time lapse stuff. No fish were harmed in the making of this video, but several hot dogs did disappear forever.
