The Dallas Arboretum is a beautiful and educational place for the whole family. Learn about children's events at the Dallas Arboretum, such as "Mommy and Me Mondays," and the groundbreaking ceremony for Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden opening Spring 2013.

After 10 years in the making, the Dallas Arboretum broke ground last Monday on The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden, opening spring 2013.  Familiar (and notable) faces filled the garden to celebrate the creation of this game-changing, North Texas gateway into strengthening science education for our children.

The Dallas Arboretum is constructing a seven-acre, science adventure garden and laboratory, created specifically for children and tailored to families.  The Children's Adventure Garden consists of 150 interactive exhibits and 16, primarily outdoor, “hands-on” classrooms, including The Incredible Edible Garden, The Wild Wetland Walk, Texas Skywalk and Pure Energy.

You don’t need to wait until Spring 2013 to take the family to the Arboretum – there’s loads of fun to be had now!  We might just see you there.  And we’ll for sure see you at the opening of The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden…it will no doubt spark the minds of many young, North Texas children…perhaps more so than any textbook could.  What better environment is there than a vast, interactive outdoor laboratory to show how fun and exciting learning can be!

The Dallas Arboretum will host an outdoor exhibit by renowned Seattle glass artist Dale Chihuly from May 5 to Nov. 5, 2012.   Chihuly, 70, is one of the most prolific and influential glass artists of his generation, with works in more than 200 museum collections worldwide.
