When encountering someone who looks or acts differently than we do, we have to make a choice to embrace the unknown, or shy away. From youth to adulthood, many aren't sure how to approach and befriend those with physical challenges. Confined to a wheelchair since birth, University of Texas alumnus Jay Armstrong has never let his cerebral palsy slow him down. While severe dyslexia may have limited his reading skills, nothing stopped the native Texan from writing his first children's book, A Day with Jay. Now a passionate speaker to school, social, and business groups, Jay helps kids and adults from all walks of life develop friendships with the wheelchair bound. Jay uses his quick wit and sense of humor to be a constant inspiration and make a positive, lasting impression wherever he goes.
