    First Tuesday Social Justice Films presents Prayers for Bobby, courtesy of A&E Television Networks, LLC.  Unitarian Universalist Church of Oak Cliff hosts the free screening on Oct. 7, 7:00 pm, at 3839 W. Kiest Blvd., Dallas, TX 75233. Refreshments provided.  Audience discussion follows.

    The movie is based on the book, Prayers for Bobby: A Mother's Coming to Terms with the Suicide of Her Gay Son, by Leroy F. Aarons, which is itself based on the true story of the life and legacy of Bobby Griffith, a young gay man who killed himself in 1983. The film stars Ryan Kelley as Bobby Griffith and Sigourney Weaver as his mother, Mary.
