Football Fashion

The big game is happening this Sunday, and although our boys will not be playing at Jerry’s house, Dallas fashion designer, Abi Ferrin, will be.

On January 27, Stanley Korshak hosted the 10th Annual Off The Field Players’ Wives Awards Banquet and Fashion Show and Media Reception showcasing new Abi Ferrin fashions.

“It’s our 10th year, we probably have secretly been waiting for it to be in the Metroplex. [It’s] just awesome to have a local story, and have a local designer, and be able to let Dallas shine for the fashion place that it is,” said Romonda Jordan. Dallas is equally excited – despite the ice storm, posters and billboards have been popping up around the city, and it’s not uncommon to find a celeb browsing NorthPark Center in America’s No. 2 shopping city. Dallas plays dress up

I imagine this is how most of my conversations will go today:

So Laura, what did you do last night?

Oh, you know. Went to a cocktail party with a high profile fashion designer and a Heisman Trophy winner. No biggie. Typical Thursday night.

The best part is: I’m not kidding.

In a few weeks, Dallas, and the massive edifice that is the new Cowboys Stadium, will be home to Super Bowl XLV, and consequently, floods of football fans and fashion fanatics.

Last night, the Azure in Uptown hosted the 10th Annual Off The Field Kickoff Cocktail Party, featuring the fashions of 2007 Texas Top Designer, Abi Ferrin. Trisha Ewert and Regina Bruce hosted the event benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. At the close of the Super Bowl events, Abi will donate 10% of her sales to St. Jude. During the event, one of Abi’s signature 5-Way dresses was raffled off, as well as an autographed football from Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Brown. (more…)
