New Fitness Boutique Helps Dallas Residents Make Fitness a Lifestyle

Posted by    |    March 26th, 2012 at 3:22 pm

bodybar™ is bringing the latest in fitness to Dallas with a boutique fitness studio that isn’t based on fads – but, rather an overall experience that helps Dallasites make fitness a way of life.

To introduce the community to its new studio – like any true Southern hostess would – bodybar™ is hosting a grand opening party Thursday, March 29 from 6 to 10 p.m. at 4514 Travis St., Suite 212 in Travis Walk. The high-energy fitness party will feature a live DJ, a sampling of raw foods and juices, and a choreographed routine highlighting fitness classes that can’t be found anywhere else. Additionally, bodybar™ is offering its neighbors a week of free classes starting March 30.

Fitness fads come and go – it’s evident in January’s packed gyms and The Big D’s constant quest for physical beauty. The passionate fitness experts of bodybar™ have decided to give these fads the boot.

Instead, they are dedicated to total body transformation through Pilates, strength training and overall wellness. With a combination of top-of-the-line machinery, one-of-a-kind workouts, signature aromatherapy candles and apparel products – all in beautiful, modern studios – bodybar is dedicated to keeping the community excited and challenged – physically and mentally.

Dallas’ favorite fashion entrepreneur and boutique owner, John Piermarini, is officially saying sayonara to his boutique’s winter wardrobe, as he welcomes the most stylish of spring trends! Piermarini Boutique, famed for its’ shopping in your best friends closet experience, will be undergoing its seasonal transformation, from wintery woolens to a sophisticated and lively spring collection.

The women’s wear collection will kick-off the new season with hints of “ocean colors”; sea foam greens & blues that are pale and pair nicely with bolder accents. Piermarini has handpicked a selection of top-notch designers to be sold in the boutique, including an elite collection comprised of women’s wear by Minimarket, Won Hundred, Osklen, Kymerah and Hyden Yoo.

My Top 5 Rules for Estate Sales

Posted by    |    September 20th, 2011 at 11:08 am

My favorite thing about estate sales is the total high you get when you find an amazing piece.  I’m pretty sure it’s equivalent to a paleontologist uncovering a dinosaur that wouldn’t have been appreicated if it was never found and given a second life.
The difference to me between an estate sale and a garage sale is that an estate sale is the pieces that someone held onto their whole life.  It must have been the dress that she met her husband in, a purse that she took on her favorite trip, or a pair of heels that made her feel beautiful.  Each of the pieces had a meaning deep in her heart that she could never part with. Wear This….Paper Crown

Posted by    |    September 2nd, 2011 at 7:07 am

Lauren Conrad’s new upscale line, Paper Crown is just gorgeous…as evidenced above with that wispy, ethereal dress that whispers “Romance me!” (The romance maker is called the Ella Gown, seen here in Nude.) At this very moment, you can only find Paper Crown in one boutique in Texas, the Aquarius Boutique in San Antonio. Bummer, I know.  But Nordstrom, who carries our local fav Abi Ferrin’s line nationally now, has Paper Crown online. Won’t you join me in emailing Nordy’s to ask them to carry the line in-store?  Sometimes it’s just waaaaay more fun to try on beautiful things and imagine where you’re going to wear it while surrounded by mirrors and elevator music.  I’m just sayin’.

Urbandillo Hobo Shrinks Your Life

Posted by    |    August 30th, 2011 at 6:56 pm

I have a sickness.  It’s called “packing far more than I will ever need on this trip” and then cramming so much into my carry-on bag or checked baggage that the zippers are popping off and the seams are bursting.  Can you relate?  I mean, a girl has to account for every possible wardrobe change, every mishap.  So  you can imagine my excitement when I came across the new Urbandillo website with not only this adorable and functional Hobo bag, but an entire online store of goodies that will make packing (i.e. “life”) easier!

Here is a video of how it works: How To Shrink Your Urbandillo Bag

Pretty amazing stuff! According to the Urbandillo website, the idea came from designer Veronica realizing the need that she and her friends had for looking stylish, but they hated the hassles of carrying their layers when they weren’t needed with their busy, on the go lives . “She felt strongly that the market lacked stylish, on-the-go apparel that was functional, but focused on fashion first and so innocently began designing her own line. Veronica sketched designs, made prototypes, filed patents and created an innovative line of fashion that she named Urbandillo.”

I am already filling up my shopping cart with these inventive items.  With the Classic Hobo starting at just $69 ( it comes in black or a beautiful purple…Justin Bieber’s favorite color!), you can make a small investment in the future of lighter packing.
