Bob Stoops weighs in, supports Mike Gundy in Wes Lunt Transferpalooza…

…and confirms he’s pretty much also a dick.

From the WWL.

“I support every coach and I support Mike Gundy in every way if they have their issues because all situations are different. I mean that sincerely. Mike’s doing the right thing in his case,” Stoops said at an Oklahoma caravan event on Wednesday night. “A guy says, ‘I’m coming to you’ and you get a running back, and then all of a sudden you don’t have a running back. He leaves. That doesn’t leave your program in a great spot, right? So, I’m totally in agreement.”

That’s some Socratic Method type stuff right there.

“It isn’t right that they can just do what they want to do,” Stoops said. “It isn’t good. I don’t believe in it.”

Why don’t we have the coach sign up to coach the player for as long as the player is there? Don’t give me any of that a player signs with a school not a coach bullshit, Bob.

Texas Longhorns & Oklahoma Sooners: An Open Letter

Dear Returning Players and Newcomers,

Now that spring training is over, you really should be consumed with spending the next six months getting bigger, faster, stronger, smarter and hungrier. There is a score to settle with Oklahoma. Surely the memory of the recent butt-kickings and residual taunting are enough to motivate you. However, for those who need something a little more empirical, I will provide that.

Four times since 2000, Texas has taken a knife covered dish to a gun fight. Let me share how unprecedented and unparalleled that is. Texas-0U vs. Other Showcase Rivalries If you google “Top 10 college football rivalries,” you’ll get a variety of lists. There are some rivalries that make all lists: Texas-OU, Auburn-Alabama, Ohio State-Michigan, Notre Dame-USC and Army-Navy. There are also many other well-known rivalries that are not universally listed: Pitt-West Virginia, Oregon-Oregon State, Florida-Florida State, etc. From these lists, I put together a sample of 15 rivalries as a way to determine “how often do teams in these showcase rivalries get blown out by 38 points, the smallest of the four whippings by OU?”

1977 Texas Versus Oklahoma Football Game: Part 2

Enter redshirt freshman Randy McEachern.  For those of us at the game, there was that moment when Jon Aune tried to come back into the game.  He dropped back to pass and his knee buckled.  I felt sick for him and admired him for the courage to play knowing the extent of his injury.

This game was an exceptionally strong defensive battle – SEC style.
