Commitment is more than just deciding to do something; it is also about following through with that decision.  Lamar Odom is an example of someone who needs to rethink his commitments.  When he became a professional basketball player he made a commitment to his team and his fans to give the best he could each and every game.

The fans and the franchises depend on their players to perform at the level at which they were recruited or drafted. Excluding injuries, this is usually a fair expectation.

The Mavericks Skewer the Suns

Posted by    |    January 31st, 2012 at 11:54 pm

The Mavericks put on a show Monday night in the Valley of the Sun winning 122-99. Even though Steve Nash was out with a bruised thigh, the Suns manage to pull it within 3 in the beginning of the second quarter. However the rest of the night belonged to Dallas as they found a rhythm late in the third. From Vince Carter’s behind the back basket to Delante West’s buzzer beaters, the Mavs are starting to finally seem comfortable with each other on the court. It is still early in the season but with games like this the Mavericks have potential to show the country why they’re still the champions.

With impending free agent superstars in the form of a franchise center in Dwight Howard and a franchise point guard in Deron Williams, the Dallas front office risked the fallout from breaking up their first ever championship squad to position themselves financially to be one of the main players in the 2012 free agency frenzy.
