Lamar Odom and Commitment

Commitment is more than just deciding to do something; it is also about following through with that decision.  Lamar Odom is an example of someone who needs to rethink his commitments.  When he became a professional basketball player he made a commitment to his team and his fans to give the best he could each and every game.

The fans and the franchises depend on their players to perform at the level at which they were recruited or drafted. Excluding injuries, this is usually a fair expectation.

When one player begins to allow outside influences to affect their performance, their true commitment to the game is tested. In this case, it is clear that Odom allowed outside influences and/or his personal agenda to cloud his judgment and commitment to the game. (more…)

Equinox Trainer Megan Bursey Dishes On the Ronnie Coleman Classic

I am fresh off a finish at the Ronnie Coleman Classic this past weekend in Mesquite. It was the largest show in Texas history with over four hundred competitors! Being my first NPC show I had a lot of expectations regarding the level of competition and it is safe to say I was not disappointed. All of the athletes who stepped on stage came prepared and determined to deliver their best physiques.

I met my goal of going into this event leaner than my first MuscleMania this past October. I felt really good about my overall condition. Mind you there is always room for improvement, but you have to take small steps at a time. Ultimately I made the second call out for my height class, Bikini C. This means that while I did not make the top five I did make the top ten.

No one likes to lose and there is always a sting of disappointment, I am happy for those who did place and win. I know the hard work and determination that goes into preparing for an event like this and I give each and every one of them credit. (more…)

Megan Bursey on Brady Quinn

Posted by    |    March 1st, 2012 at 2:53 pm

One of the lessons we learn as kids is the importance of teamwork. Growing up playing sports it is instilled in us that there is no “I” in “TEAM.” Somehow, this lesson was lost on Brady Quinn as he decided to air his grievances or rather jealousy in a recent interview regarding Tim Tebow. Listen as Megan Bursey weighs in on how better delivery and playing might have be the more appropriate way to get attention rather than tearing down his own teammate.

Megan Bursey is a former collegiate golfer and current bikini competitor.  Bursey is the current Musclemania Fitness Texas Champion-Model and Bikini Division 2011, and a fitness instructor –  Indoor Cycle, ViPR, & Tabata - in the Dallas area.
