Urban Taco Launches New Weekend Brunch Menu

Urban Taco introduces a new weekend brunch menu on Saturday, March 31 at its Uptown location. At the heart of every Urban Taco menu is the dedication to serving fresh, authentic ingredients with everything made from scratch. Know for their modern Mexican cuisine and inspired selection of tacos, the new brunch menu features a selection of Mexican brunch favorites including Chilaquiles Rojas and Verdes, Huevos Rancheros, Egg Benedicto and Egg & Steak Torta Ahogada.

Guests will also find Urban Taco’s signature taqueria options, including Eggxcellent Breakfast Tacos with a selection of Roasted Honey Ham, Carnitas, Tinga, Barbacoa and Buenos Dias, all available a la carte or as a pair with choice of two sides that include Jalapeno Potato Hash, Yogurt con Granola, Rosemary Roasted Potatoes, Frijoles Borrachos or Black Beans.

The menu also features a build your own El Ommellete in addition to their La Jolla French Toast made with freshly baked sourdough bread, cajeta caramel warm maple syrup, banana souffle, strawberries and guajillo candied pecan served with a side of Mexican butter.

Brunch is available Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

6-Course Beer Dinner at Campo on April 2

Campo Modern Country Bistro and World Beer Co. pair-up for a unique 6-course, beer paired dinner on Monday, April 2.  Bar opens at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m.

Cost is $65 per person exclusive of tax and gratuity.  Seating is limited and reservations are required.

“Cook For A Cause” Guest Chef Night

Mockingbird Station and food expert Steven Doyle, of CraveDFW.com, a lifestyle site covering the latest about food and entertainment in DFW, cordially invite you to treat your taste buds to our “Cook For A Cause” guest chef night, featuring Central 214 Executive Chef Graham Dodds, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday, March 30 at Trinity Hall Irish Pub, Suite 250.

This unique evening will feature a special three-course dinner prepared by chef Dodds, tasty spirits courtesy of Trinity Hall and gift bags full of delicious goodies. The event will benefit the Texas Honeybee Guild, a nonprofit organization of local beekeepers that provides education and honeybee rescue efforts in DFW.

The Grape Showcases Wines from Rutherford

Chef/Owner Brian C. Luscher and wife Courtney of The Grape host their monthly chef’s Come-As-You-Are wine dinner on Wednesday, March 28, showcasing “Wines from Rutherford, CA.”. Chef Luscher will create a 3-course bistro-style menu to complement the hand-selected Napa Valley wines of the evening. Special guest host for this event is Jennifer Mancha of Republic Beverage.

The Grape’s monthly wine dinner provides a fun, casual setting, that allows the guest to “come-as-they-are” and dine at their own pace, allowing for a more festive one-on-one format with the wine experts. Themes include a wine expert/host for the evening who speaks to each individual table about the wines selected.

CampO A.M. Now Open for Brunch

CampO Modern Country Bistro now offers brunch Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

CampO A.M. European/Latin American inspired dishes include Torta Rustica, Torta Española, Croque Monsieur 1910, Croque Madame with fried egg, house-made Mortadella with poached egg and other updated classics.

The build-your-own-menu features sweet and savory sides including house sausage, stacked country hash, yogurt panna cotta and sweet corn griddle cakes.

Hangover helper cocktails include the North Bloody Mary (oyster, shrimp and house pickled celery), Michelada, Hot Tin Roof (bay leaf infused cachaca, cane sugar, lime, ginger) and the signature CampO Pisco.

Chefs Mixin’ It Up on The Boulevard on May 6

Chefs for Farmers’ much anticipated ‘Mixin’ it up on the Boulevard’ slated for May 6 at Lee Park will showcase tastings from more than 30 of Dallas’ top restaurants, samplings from 20 wineries and cocktails along with displays from local farmers, artisans and industry experts.

Participating chefs include Abraham Salum, Al Havens, Anastasia Quiñones, Andre Natera, Andrew Bell, Andrew Ormsby, Blaine Staniford, Brian C. Luscher, Bruno Davaillon, Chad Houser, Dan Landsberg, David A. Temple, David Gilbert, Franchesca Nor, Garreth Dickey, Graham Dodds, Greg Bussey, Hollie Dorethy, Jack Perkins, Janice Provost, Jason Maddy, Jeff Harris, Jeffrey Hobbs, Jill Bates, John Tesar, Jon Stevens, Josh Black, Katherine Clapner, Matt McCallister, Nathan Tate, Randall Copeland, Sarah Green, Scott Gottlich, Scott Romano, Tiffany Derry and Tre Wilcox.

Austin’s James Holmes of Olivia joins the Chefs for Farmers roster along with San Antonio’s Jason Dady of The Lodge Restaurant and David Gilbert of Stephan Pyles’ newest venture Sustenio.

Pit masters Justin Fourton of Pecan Lodge, Travis Mayes of Meshack’s Bar-b-que Shack and Tim McLaughlin and Will Fleischman of Lockhart Smokehouse will be firing up the grills for some down home, Texas style BBQ bites.

Dallas legend Stephan Pyles will be honored as head chair, with honors also given to Kent Rathbun and Dean Fearing for their outstanding community outreach and support of local growers. Cold Springs Farm’s Beverly Thomas will also be recognized for the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) commitment to grow and provide certified organic, in-season produce and herbs to consumers.

Cost is $60 per person or two for $110. 100% of the proceeds from Mixin’ it up on the Boulevard benefit Meals on Wheels Inc. and Water for Chizavane.

Mockingbird Station Leap Crawl

Mockingbird Station, in cooperation with Yelp.com, a Website that connects people with great local businesses, will host The Station Leap Crawl from 6 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at The People’s Last Stand (Suite 210), Trinity Hall (Suite 250) and Urban Taco (Suite 125).

In honor of Yelp Drinks Week, a city-wide chance for residents to sample half-off cocktails at the places locals love on Feb. 27 – March 4, the Station will offer Yelp subscribers the chance to win $20 gift cards to three participating hot spots.

Simply become a Yelp subscriber and fill out a punch card at participating Yelp Drinks Week restaurants including The People’s Last Stand, Trinity Hall and Urban Taco. Order one of the three specialty Yelp cocktails and get your card punched at each location. You can only receive one punch per location. When your punch card is full, return it to any of the three eateries for a $20 gift card to that restaurant. There will only be ten gift cards available at each location, so come early and start sampling those tasty Yelp beverages!

Mixin’ It Up at Lee Park

“Almost sold out?!” MIXIN’ IT UP ON THE BOULEVARD is the one of the hottest food events in Dallas that you don’t want to miss! It’s an outdoor food, wine and spirits festival coming to Lee Park on May 6, 2012 hosted by Chefs For Farmers. The celebration will bring local farmers, chefs and purveyors together  in Dallas, Texas.
