Hopdoddy Hits Dallas

For any recent Austin transplants, the transition just got a little easier. Hopdoddy Burger Bar opened last Wednesday in Dallas to some serious crowds. Founded by the original owners of Eddie V’s, it’s not your average burger grill.

Hopdoddy’s has the fresh, all-natural ingredients that almost every new restaurant has been boasting lately, but the food is actually incredible and the attention to detail is what truly sets this place apart. Grab the Terlingua with Sassy Sauce or the Ahi Tuna Burger to go with your beer or for lighter eaters, try one of the new Dallas-edition salads like their watermelon-feta-baby kale salad.

My fave: the Magic Shroom with Texas Goat Cheese and Basil Pesto.

Urban Taco Launches New Weekend Brunch Menu

Urban Taco introduces a new weekend brunch menu on Saturday, March 31 at its Uptown location. At the heart of every Urban Taco menu is the dedication to serving fresh, authentic ingredients with everything made from scratch. Know for their modern Mexican cuisine and inspired selection of tacos, the new brunch menu features a selection of Mexican brunch favorites including Chilaquiles Rojas and Verdes, Huevos Rancheros, Egg Benedicto and Egg & Steak Torta Ahogada.

Guests will also find Urban Taco’s signature taqueria options, including Eggxcellent Breakfast Tacos with a selection of Roasted Honey Ham, Carnitas, Tinga, Barbacoa and Buenos Dias, all available a la carte or as a pair with choice of two sides that include Jalapeno Potato Hash, Yogurt con Granola, Rosemary Roasted Potatoes, Frijoles Borrachos or Black Beans.

The menu also features a build your own El Ommellete in addition to their La Jolla French Toast made with freshly baked sourdough bread, cajeta caramel warm maple syrup, banana souffle, strawberries and guajillo candied pecan served with a side of Mexican butter.

Brunch is available Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cost is $65 per person exclusive of tax and gratuity.  Seating is limited and reservations are required.

“Cook For A Cause” Guest Chef Night

Mockingbird Station and food expert Steven Doyle, of CraveDFW.com, a lifestyle site covering the latest about food and entertainment in DFW, cordially invite you to treat your taste buds to our “Cook For A Cause” guest chef night, featuring Central 214 Executive Chef Graham Dodds, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday, March 30 at Trinity Hall Irish Pub, Suite 250.

Dallas Restaurants Welcome Tillamook Cheese

To honor one of the most loved American dishes –the cheeseburger – Tillamook Cheese’s Loaf Love Tour has partnered with five Dallas restaurants for Tillamook Burger Week. During Burger Week, which runs from March 17 – March 24, each spot will offer a unique burger special featuring award-winning Tillamook Cheese.

Starting today, fans who snap a picture of themselves enjoying their favorite cheeseburger and post to Tillamook’s Facebook page or tweet @TillamookCheese with the hashtag #BurgerWeek, will be entered to win a $25 gift card to one of the participating restaurants. The Grape Showcases Wines from Rutherford

Chef/Owner Brian C. Luscher and wife Courtney of The Grape host their monthly chef’s Come-As-You-Are wine dinner on Wednesday, March 28, showcasing “Wines from Rutherford, CA.”. Chef Luscher will create a 3-course bistro-style menu to complement the hand-selected Napa Valley wines of the evening. Special guest host for this event is Jennifer Mancha of Republic Beverage.

The Grape’s monthly wine dinner provides a fun, casual setting, that allows the guest to “come-as-they-are” and dine at their own pace, allowing for a more festive one-on-one format with the wine experts. Themes include a wine expert/host for the evening who speaks to each individual table about the wines selected.
