Dallas Restaurants Welcome Tillamook Cheese

To honor one of the most loved American dishes –the cheeseburger – Tillamook Cheese’s Loaf Love Tour has partnered with five Dallas restaurants for Tillamook Burger Week. During Burger Week, which runs from March 17 – March 24, each spot will offer a unique burger special featuring award-winning Tillamook Cheese.

Starting today, fans who snap a picture of themselves enjoying their favorite cheeseburger and post to Tillamook’s Facebook page or tweet @TillamookCheese with the hashtag #BurgerWeek, will be entered to win a $25 gift card to one of the participating restaurants. Submit your entry before midnight on Saturday, March 24 to win.

KRLD Restaurant Week Begins

The ultimate foodie event of the year is upon us! KRLD’s Restaurant Week begins today. This is a great time to have a try restaurants that’s prices may have intimated you. Also, many restaurants have items on their menu that are only offered during Restaurant Week, such as Chamberlain’s Duck Confit Spring Rolls. You have to try this!

It’s a perfect time to book summer dining deals at 130 regional hot spots opening up tables, and currently accepting reservations for this special giveback opportunity supporting the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home the week of August 15-21, 2011. The event continues through September 4, 2011.

The event showcases North Texas’ thriving culinary scene, offers tasty three-course prix fixe dinner priced at only $35/person (tax, tip and drinks billed separately). The icing on the cake is that you help support local fine dining establishments and two great charities – making a $7 donation to either the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas or Lena Pope Home in Fort Worth. Last year they raised over $600,000 for these great organizations.

Enjoy Chick-fil-A Til The Cows Come Home!

Today might not seem like a significant day, but in fact it’s Cow Appreciation Day. As you know, my family is a fan of Chick-fil-A and on “Cow Appreciation Day,” they give away free ENTREES & COMBO MEALS depending how much you come in dressed like a cow.You can print out their cow costume kit here if you need help or create our own “costumes.”

With the help of its “Eat Mor Chikin” cows campaign, Chick-fil-A was recognized in 2010 as one of the top “Marketers of the Year” by Advertising Age, and as one of J.D. Power and Associates’ “Top Restaurant Brands in Customer Satisfaction.”

In preparation for this day, I sat down with Chick-fil-A’s President & Chief Operating Operator Dan T. Cathy, who was in Dallas to celebrate the advertising campaign at the headquarters of its creator, The Richards Group. (more…)

Uptown Popcorn Has Something for Everyone

It’s summer blockbuster movies season! So, what’s better than munching on some gourmet popcorn while you enjoy these summer flicks. The good news is that you don’t have to travel to Chicago to grab a bag…Uptown Popcorn located in NorthPark Center, The Village at Fairview and Uptown Village at Cedar Hill has all you want and more.

As you walked up to the shop, the wafting smells of freshly popped popcorn and luscious caramel fills the air. Uptown Popcorn produces 70-plus flavors of gourmet popcorn. What is awesome about this shop is that they give out free samples, so you can try before you buy! They have every flavor from strawberry cheesecake to beer popcorn.

Paul’s Caramel and Hannah’s Caramel are amazing! You also need to try these flavor combos: The Chick Flick (Cookies & Cream, Rocky Road and S’mores) and The Chili’s (Chili Cheese and Loaded Baked Potato).
