The Hope Center

Posted by    |    November 6th, 2010 at 7:49 am

At the invitation of Vicki Garza, director of Hope for Heart, www.hopefortheheart.org, Gio Giovani and I recently attended the opening of The Hope Center in Plano.  The Hope Center is a nine acre home designed to support multiple Christian ministries. This impressive complex reflects the vision of its founder, June Hunt.  This complex is incredibly well thought out.   The foundation managing the Center provides shared facilities and services to ministries who could probably not afford the depth and breadth of services offered by the Center on a stand-alone basis.  I encourage you to check out www.hopecenter-usa.org, the Center’s website showcasing their global mission, the ministries, and their efforts.

Baseball and Faith

Posted by    |    August 15th, 2010 at 10:20 am

Last night, my son Sean, his friend Mark, my father-in-law Tom and I headed to the Ball Park to watch the Rangers and Red Sox play.  We lost the game, but there was one Ranger ball player that lived up to his billing.

That player?  Josh Hamilton.

On the way back home, I vaguely recalled seeing a video on Hamilton, but I could not remember where.  This morning, I found it.  Go to www.iamsecond.com and find his testimonial.

Josh Hamilton can just about do anything and everything on the baseball field.  However, the off-the-field turmoil in his life almost destroyed his career.  The story captured at I am Second is a powerful example of how we all can overcome obstacles through our faith.
