The 7 Day Facebook Marriage Challenge

About a month ago I wrote a post about how important it is that you praise your spouse … everyday. Part of my post included these words, “I mentioned while teaching a marriage class recently, if there was one thing that could make an immediate positive impact on your marriage, it would be praising your spouse, and you can’t heap it on too think!”

I still believe that!

Your husband/wife need lots of praise.  The problem is, most people will agree that they need to praise their spouse more, but won’t put out much effort to do so.  So I’m thinking a challenge is in order.

After reading my post that I mentioned above, one of my friends, Carol, decided that she was going to use her Facebook status to publicly praise her husband Fred for the next 25 days. I looked this morning, she did an amazing job.  Fred must have loved checking his Facebook page everyday and seeing what sweet thing Carol had said about him. I love what she did. What would happen if you put a real effort into praising your spouse for the next 7 days … both publicly and privately?

So here’s the Facebook Marriage Challenge … starting tomorrow and for the next 7 days, use your Facebook status to say something you love about your spouse. Surely once a day for the next 7 days you can publicly praise your spouse.  If you don’t do Facebook, then leave your spouse a note that they can find find it for the next 7 days.  If you do Facebook and your spouse does not, then go ahead and use your Facebook, but let them know what you are writing. Never be ashamed to proclaim to the world your love for your spouse.

So you up for the challenge? I think it will be cool to see dozens of Facebook status updates that are praising their spouses.

Help me spread the word about the 7 Day Facebook Marriage Challenge. If you accept the challenge, link this post on Facebook and say, “I accept the challenge.”
