Building Memorial Houses in Honduras

We’re planning on building LOTS of houses while in Honduras next month. It may be everyone’s favorite thing to do. There’s SO much reward in building a house, and at the end of the day praying with the family that is to receive it saying, “God bless you … this is yours.”

Sometimes people pay for a house to be built (about $1500) and we dedicate that house as a memorial or in honor of someone. This next month when we go, we’re going to build a house in memory of Lea’s mother who passed away April 2009. I’m not sure there’s a better way to honor this wonderful Christian woman. Here’s the plaque we’ll attach to the house when we’re done …

“This house was built with love in memory of Evelyn Keeney. May God bless all those who live here.”

Many houses in Honduras look like this ….

And Honduras Hope teams love to leave a house that looks like this …
