Blues, Bandits and BBQ Event October 22

Go Oak Cliff, a non-profit organization, is bringing back “Blues, Bandits and BBQ” event this for its second year. The family friendly event is full of good music, good food and a good helping of competition.

Come out to Lake Oak Cliff on Saturday, October 22 and listen to live music by Tallon “T Man” Lotz, Hunter Hendrickson and other blues artists from 12pm-6pm.

Kick off the festivities with a pre-event screening of the original Blues Brothers movie before the festivities get underway.

Bring the whole family and an empty stomach for the second annual BBQ competition.

For a chance to show off your BBQ pit creations enter your team here.Categories include “Best Brisket”, “Best Pork Ribs” and more.

Advanced tickets can be purchases for $10 here. Kids under 12 get in free. Get a special 2-for-1 deal by riding your bike to the event. “Day Of” tickets are $15.

All proceeds go to Go Oak Cliff.

Tired Of Seeing Santa At The Mall?

Me too.  This year, instead of fighting mobs of shoppers in crowded malls, and I’ll be strolling the historic streets of Oak Cliff’s Bishop Arts District sipping apple cider for Jingle Bells on Bishop…and I suggest you do the same.  Today from 11am till 10pm you can see Santa, build a gingerbread house, buy gifts, get gifts wrapped, hear live music, sing a carol and more:
