The Texas Theatre is hosting a roaring ’20′s night of entertainment Saturday night, August 27th, at 8pm.
Oak Cliff resident Robert Edwards will provide live piano accompaniment to a hilarious Buster Keaton silent comedy entitled “The Playhouse”, from 1921; it’s the story of a dreamy stagehand in a vaudeville theater (played by Keaton of course). After the film, Matt Tolentino’s jazz-crazed quartet will fill the air with vintage popular tunes from the same period for your listening and/or dancing pleasure. Audience members are invited to join the revelry by dressing 1920′s style. Modern-day Gatsbys and flappers will rule this evening at the historic Texas Theatre…you’ll be entertained as folks were when Oak Cliff was brand new.
