MAKE was opened in 2005 so that people had a place to learn traditional crafts but make modern projects. This place is designed to fit everyone, from the urban professional to the busy mama…it is perfection! Not only does it have a shop filled with local designers; but also a creative studio space hosting classes, private events & open studio time. They specialize in sewing, screen printing & even body care. So, whether you venture over alone or decide to get a group of girls together, taking a class is totally worth your time. A great creative outlet, plus you leave each class session with a project!
Did I mention everything is handmade? A fan of etsy? If so, this place has your name written all over it.

Sounds so fun! I definitely need to venture over there! I love Etsy! So this would be such a fun local outlet!
If you are a fan of Project Runway and interested in learning to sew and design clothes, consider enrolling in Project Make, a multi-week class at the Make Shop. My previous sewing experience was limited and this really didn’t matter. The climax of the course was a runway show with professional models featuring our designs in the Bishop Arts District. What a blast!!
I signed up for Sewing 1 & 2 at Make, and made a handbag and a skirt. It was a lot of fun. They have tons of other classes including screen printing, which i plan on signing up for in near future.
