Single this Valentines Day? Sitting at home eating a box of chocolates you bought yourself, watching lame romantic comedies? Well stop it. Come out to Frankie’s Sports Bar instead and tell Valentines day to kiss off with other like minded individuals. What makes this Anti-Valentines day party so good for your spirit is the giant shredder that will be located outside Frankie’s where you can put any remains of a dying or dead love affair such as an exes picture, a break up letter or that stuffed bunny from last year’s Valentines, through the blades for a nice cathartic release. Plus Every everyone who puts something through the shredder get’s a free drink (one per guest, up to a $6.50 value).
How cool is that, a free drink in exchange for some healthy emotional purging. To top it all off it’ll be happy hour prices all night with bar tenders mixing up 4$ drinks with names like Love Stinks, Stupid Cupid, Bitter End, and Arrow Thru my Heart. The party started at 11am but it’s going until 2am , so collect those pictures, letters or whatever other items that symbolize your relationship baggage that might be lying around, and drink some drinks to Valentines day being lame.

The music we dance to is undeniably an integral part of a good weekend. All throughout Dallas clubs people dance and drink while DJs spin, mix and blend beats and genres of music, creating a new musical whole that’s completely different from the individual parts. Most of the time we’re too busy dancing to be able to notice who or what is being used to make these mixes, so for your Friday viewing pleasure I share with you this awesome short video that not only offers a great song but a nifty visual guide to all the the artist you hear. It’s kind of like a musical I Spy.

There is a famous drink in Downtown Dallas, at City Tavern, named after one of my closest friends, Dusty. Or at least that is what we tell all of our out-of-town friends that come visit.
The story behind the name is no more interesting than the fib I just told you. In fact, a better-suited name for the Dirty Dusty, would be “No, NO I DO NOT WANT THAT.”
What is a Dirty Dusty? It’s a great way to start your night when downtown. It’s a must to make any friend who visits, or who hasn’t tried one, take one, a ritual if you will. It’s the two words you will hate most the next day. “I don’t remember much after that….Dirty Dusty.”
A Dirty Dusty is simple:

Hey, how 'bout me?
Uptown bartenders can be a tricky bunch. If you have ever been that guy at the bar on a busy night, squeezing your way up to order a drink, watching as others (hot girls, kind of hot girls, no-way-she-is-getting-served-before-me girls, and the worst — other guys) get treated as if they are the bartender’s cousin, then you, my little holding your credit card high in the air trying to attract attention friend, need a little etiquette. Read on, and I will get you a drink after the jump.
