Is it EDC season yet?

Posted by    |    October 6th, 2011 at 7:29 pm

The Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) is already gearing up for its next season. The popular music festival has confirmed that it will return to the Las Vegas Music Speedway on June 8 – 10. Last year discounted early bird tickets sold out almost as soon as they were released, so be ready to logon to their website when tickets for the festival go on sale at 2 PM Central Standard Time on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Three-day General Admission tickets will start at $215, three-day VIP tickets are to start at $500 each and will most likely go up. We also hear that there will be a limited quantity of single-day tickets available at a later date.   For tickets and more information click here.  No word yet on if the event will be making a return to Dallas as well. –David Morris

Take a Stand

It’s like “Cheers”, but better … somewhere you can go and just be yourself and do your own thing.  At least that’s what The People’s Last Stand’s owner, Kartik Rathore, thinks of his new speakeasy-esque bar in Mockingbird Station … and I’m inclined to agree.  Taking queues from some of my favorite Big Apple bars, the former corporate brainiac decided that he could do it better.

Opening October 7th, The People’s Last Stand will feature classic and not-so-classic cocktails by the ever-so-smooth Omar Yeefoon, who formerly mixed at Cedar Social and The Dubliner.  TPLS will use infused liquors to spice up their already imaginative cocktails like the lemongrass-infused elixir that will go into the Thyme Bomb or the bourbon infused with cinnamon that will play the main role in The Great White Jail.

Not into cocktails?  TPLS will serve over thirty wines (some by the bottle); they plan to expand their wine wall over time.  For the beer lovers, they’ll offer a wide selection of craft beers (some on tap).  But really, why wouldn’t you want some of those amazing cocktails … really? (more…)
