Are you a yogi? No, I’m not asking if you’re a picnic stealing bear, but rather a practitioner of yoga. Yoga became popular in the U.S. in the early 2000′s, and its popularity has stood the test of time, proving it’s not just a trend, but a movement that is here to stay.
If you still haven’t jumped on the yoga train, here’s your chance to try it out! September 3 marks DFW Free Day of Yoga. Sponsored by Luke’s Locker and the Crow Collection of Asian Art, in conjunction with the Family Day at the Crow, over 70 participating locations will offer free yoga classes to anyone who is interested. And one of those locations just happens to be in the Design District!
Balancing Energy Health & Yoga Center recently opened its doors at 1425 Dragon St. Owner Lisa Breitenwischer is a Holistic Health Counselor and Yoga teacher of almost seven years. She practices a holistic approach to health and wellness and is trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods.
Lisa will be offering up two free morning yoga classes at the studio, including a Vinyasa Flow class at 10 a.m. and a Core Strengthening class at 11:30 a.m.
“I hope people will take advantage of this opportunity to try yoga for the first time, experience a new style of yoga, share yoga with family and friends, or just visit our new studio!” Lisa says.
Personally, I’m excited to get back into the practice, and, it’s the perfect excuse to purchase a new lululemon outfit!
