This weekend will be full of great sales and fantastic finds! Both the Semi-annual Street-wide Antique Sale and LHO’s Closing Sale will be going on, so trek over to the Design District this Saturday, Oct. 22, for some fab home furnishings, vintage books, rare art and antique collectibles.

It’ll be a beautiful day for strolling, so park your car and walk around! There will be a sale on the street early in the morning, and then shopping inside each store until 5 p.m. Word on the street is that the participating stores have restocked their vignettes especially for the event!

Both the Riverside antique sale and LHO Consignment’s Closing sale will begin at 9 a.m., so come early!

Design on Dragon has come and gone and Slocum Street Style was fun while it lasted, but this weekend will host the Design District’s latest street side affair: Riverfront Antiques District Streetwide Sale. From 9 am to 5 pm this Saturday, October 22, over 200 vendors will set up along Riverfront, Parkhouse Street, Howell, and Riveredge in the Dallas Design District to show off and sell their antiques, mid-century modern and vintage furniture, designer art, architecturals, lighting and more!

Among the festivities taking place over the course of the day, vintage furnishing shop Again & Again will debut at their new LOL location, offering up Pearl Cup coffee and live music presented by Dallas DJ, Mr. Diamond. From 11 am to 2pm guests can enjoy food truck fare from Nammi Truck and Three Men and a Taco while shopping for discounted vintage furniture. Shoppers will also love the outdoor sale, where inventory will be discounted up to seventy-five percent!

I dropped into Again & Again’s new 14,000 square foot consignment shop at 141 Howell Street last weekend and totally fell in love. I was mesmerized by the high-style, high-quality selection of vintage pieces. Leslie, Again & Again’s stylish and energetic owner, took me on a whirlwind tour of the space and bubbled over with enthusiasm as she gushed about her new Design District digs. It was so exciting to find someone who shared my passion for good design, and the fun new energy of the Dallas Design District!

Again & Again is just one of the many stops to make this Saturday. Martinie and Altom Architectural Imports, DDD Auction, Inc., and Antiques Moderne are also on my list. There’s lots to love so come on out Saturday to take advantage of all the good deals!

Join Jim Lake Companies and Trinity Loft on Oct. 20 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. for their second Design District Diversion, but their first ever pop-up art show. The event is free and open to the public, and will feature five local Dallas artists, music, food, wine, beer and great company!

This fall the Dallas Design District has amazed you with its art, dazzled you with its design and blown you away with its burgers. Tonight let the showrooms of Slocum Street astonish you with their impressive array of antiques!

Slocum Street Style, the street’s annual festival, will be hosted tonight, October 13, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Shops and showrooms up and down the street will keep their doors open late and welcome guests to browse their designer wares while enjoying music, light bites, sweets and cocktails.

If last year’s soiree was any indication, this year is sure to be a blast! My plan is to start at the Hi Line/Slocum intersection and work my way up the street. Scott+Cooner is hosting a trunk show for Robin Grey rugs. Janus et Cie and McGannon are also can’t-miss stops. A quick jot to see what’s new at Kitchen Source, then a sweep through Whimsey Shoppe is next. B. Gover, Brendan Bass, Banks Fine Art and Leslie Taylor Antiques are also on the agenda for the evening. But truth be told, who knows where the evening will take us!

The weather promises to be perfect, so I look forward to seeing you out in the Design District this evening!

Cocktails + food trucks + shopping = Slocum Street Style 2011, brought to you by Design Guide, Delivery Limited and Dwell with Dignity. The event, as its name suggests, will take place on Slocum Street in the Design District on Oct. 13 from 5 to 8 p.m.
