It’s clear: the acrylic furniture trend isn’t just a phase, it’s here to stay. More and more I’m seeing rooms — both contemporary and transitional — anchored by or accented with a lucite statement piece. While ghost chairs may have started the movement, furniture designers are now producing a wide array of acrylic masterpieces, from furniture to accessories.
One of such designers is Alexandra Von Furstenberg who debuted her acrylic furniture collections, which include desks, dining tables, cocktail tables and end tables, in 2008.
Her “Fearless” collection includes acrylic, gem-like pieces with neon accents. Well, hello color! How fun are these? A child of the eighties, these little gems are right up my alley! Most pieces are made to order so you can customize it in any color and size you’d like.
“Voltage” is a darker collection crafted with smoke-colored acrylic and mirrors – a natural evolution from the bright, pop aesthetic seen in “Fearless.”
So where do you find these chic furnishings? Recently, Dahlgren Duck & Associates partnered with Alexandra Von Furstenberg, LLC, to exclusively provide the company’s home furniture collections to Texas and the majority of the southwest region.
“Alexandra Von Furstenberg’s home furnishings are stunning, innovative and remarkable statement pieces that give any space the modern aesthetic sought by many homeowners and designers,” said Jim K. Dahlgren, founder of Dahlgren Duck & Associates. “We are excited to offer our clientele access to the exquisite work in these collections, and to present a designer of this caliber in Dallas.”
In addition to carrying Alexandra Von Furstenberg furniture, Dahlgren Duck & Associates also carries “Accent,” the home accessories collection, including bowls, trays, and coasters designed to complement the tables included in “Fearless” and “Voltage.” But who could really settle for a coaster when you could have this brilliantly pink console!
