For all of you fashion rubber-neckers, savvy snackers and of course, do-gooders, Cavalli Rocks! was the place to be last Thursday night.
The Cavalli bash was hosted by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in honor of the Italian fashion house’s 40th anniversary. The couture occasion took place at the posh Land Co./ 7 Senses venue in the Design District.
The fundraiser was geared toward raising money for the Dallas Symphony Youth Strings, the symphony’s exclusive group for young, talented musicians. The event featured live music, a killer auction, and of course, plenty of jaw-dropping Cavalli ensembles.
In between the fashion showcases on stage, the crowd swayed to the musical musings of Paul Renna, noshed on delicious treats and sipped Red Mare Cabernet Sauvignon at the wine tasting. And a few very lucky bidders took home some kick-ass treats from the live auction.
Auction items included two tickets to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s AT&T Gala, the opportunity to conduct a DSO concert, the Dragon Bay Experience Package at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, a sunset sail for six, and a stunning studded Roberto Cavalli handbag.
The overall vibe of the event was elegantly high fashion, yet still held true to its Texas roots. Cavalli Rocks! was a nice break from the typical night out. There aren’t too many places in Dallas where you can’t get by in jeans and t-shirts, but this was definitely one of them. The crowd was sophisticated and casually elegant.
Cavalli Rocks! was a great addition to the Dallas social scene. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that more events like this start popping up around town!
