YPD: Out of all the neighborhoods in Dallas, you chose Lakewood. Why is this community special to you?
CB: It’s eclectic, fun, totally family oriented.  Feels like a SMALL town but you’re in Dallas!  The schools do so many things to involve the families … movie nights, carnivals, popsicle parties.  It’s so fun!  I love the diverse architecture of the homes, the trees and being so close to the lake.
YPD: Speaking of homes and trees, which Lakewood street is your favorite for taking in the sights?
CB: Tokalon…aahhhh

Centennial and the City

The sights of this East Dallas escape create an overall sense of peace. Not to mention gratitude for an oasis of rest, recreation and retreat in such close proximity – literally right down the street for Lakewood locals.  This signature Dallas park symbolizes many different things for Dallas residents, like relaxation, nature and wildlife, family activities and connection with a significant measure of our city’s history.  It’s a place for hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, bird-watching or simply enjoying the refreshing breeze off the water with a good book or good company.

No time like the present to honor the 100th birthday of this premiere park in North Texas.  The 2011 Comerica White Rock Lake Centennial Celebration kicks off tomorrow, March 19th, and runs through June 26th, bringing you and your family 100 days of events and activities, including a Centennial Concert at the end of June.  Proceeds benefit 10 capital improvement projects at the lake – letting you give back and get festive!
