Cool it down.

It’s a shame you missed the party yesterday.  But considering it was a pity party, you might be glad you did.  My “I’m over summer” pity party started as I got in my car yesterday afternoon.  The temperature gauge on my dashboard said 110. For added emphasis, please indulge me and let me spell that out for you…one hundred and TEN degrees.  Thank you.  My make-up was well on it’s way to being completely melted off of my flushed face.  My seat sizzled as it almost set my jeans on fire.  I winced as I touched the scalding hot steering wheel, knowing that the lovely feeling of cold air blasting out my AC was still several long minutes away.

By the way, this story has a happy ending…stay with me.

Okay, where was I?  Oh yes – the unbearable heat coming out of my AC on the drive home.  So I’m assuming you get the overly-dramatic picture. I was hot and had had enough.  And then I saw it – that pink and green sign beckoning me to come in out of the heat and delight in cold sweet goodness.  Yumilicious Frozen Yogurt reminded me why summertime in Texas is so fantastic. Is there anything better on a hot day than enjoying a “so cold you could get brain freeze” soft-serve fro yo with piles of berries on top?

Thank you, Yumilicious, for not only opening a new location in Lakewood at Abrams and La Vista Drive (1910 Abrams Pkwy, Dallas 75214) but for giving me a tasty reason to delight in summertime again, triple digit heat and all.
