High 4 or High 5 or High 8?

Pick it people!Frisco 121 Interchange

I live off of Spring Creek between the North Dallas Tollroad and the Sam Rayburn Tollway (formally known as Highway 121).  I never thought that before I left my house I would have to check what lanes are open in which directions, but I do.

There is an enormous interchange project taking place at the crossroads of the North Dallas Tollroad and the Sam Rayburn Tollway.

Is it needed? Absolutely.  Is it annoying?  Absolutely.

The growth here is exploding causing way too many cars especially on the weekends.  I remember one day it taking us 30 minutes at the light Eastbound on the service road of the Sam Rayburn Tollway at the North
Dallas Tollroad.

My main point is what is the name?  I have heard, “The Collin Connector” or “The High 4″ (after the famous Dallas
interchange at 635 and Highway 75)  I would like to nominate “The High 8″.  The reason why is if you look at the map on NTTA
it looks like a spider hence the name “The High 8″, because there are 8 connecting bridges.

North Dallas Tollroad

Tolls on both new ramps for a passenger car with two axles will be 22 cents for TollTag customers and 44 cents for ZipCash customers until the toll rate increased on July 1, which the rates went up from 23 and 45 cents, respectively. Toll rates are higher for vehicles with additional axles.

The five-level interchange is expected to be ready for traffic in January 2012.  But who knows, the earlier the better for me!

Village lakes in FriscoVillage Lakes in Frisco off of Teel Street was one of the quickest selling communities in North Dallas this summer. Both First Texas Homes and Meritage Homes wrote a total of 67 contracts from the beginning of January through the end of July.

That is an average of close to 10 homes a month in this one neighborhood alone in Frisco! As of today only 6 homes are left in this community and both builders have drastically dropped their prices to sell the homes quickly.

Implosion of Collin power plant in Frisco failed at first, but not 2 hours later

On July 1st in Frisco something took place that not too many people know about.  A building imploded.

After a two hour wait, the Collin power plant came down in just seconds.  WFAA said that two out of fourteen explosives didn’t go off on the first try.  The head project engineer comments were very odd to me at the time regarding why there was a problem on the first round, but I get it now.

He blamed it on the weather.  This was before we started the 30+ days in a row topping over 100 degrees.  He said the heat magnifies on the steel and really causes things to melt and create problems when blowing up buildings.  The Plano bomb squad was called in for the second try, which was a success. Bloomfield Homes acquires last 9 lots in the Trails in Frisco

The Trails in Frisco off of Teel and Main Street was one of the quickest selling communities in North Dallas in 2006.  Today only 9 lots are available in the private Enclaves at the Fairways.

Custom homebuilders have built homes around the enclaves in the $400,000-$500,000 range.   Now new homes are available starting in the $300’s.  Most of the lots are backing to The Trails golf course.

Stonebrook Parkway in Frisco opens today for Stonewater Crossing residents

The completion of Stonebrook Parkway to FM 423 will create a new easier commute for many in Frisco.  Until today, most commuters took either Lebannon or Main east towards the tollroad.  The new road being completed is exactly what the residents of Stonewater Crossing have been waiting for.

“Stonebrook opening will definitely help the traffic congestion and it will dramatically help our home values as well,” stated Stonewater Crossing resident Lauren Rotowsky.

This new artery will connect to Legacy Drive for now.  It will help tremendously for morning commutes while FM 423 is currently under construction to become a 6 lane highway.  At the end of 2011, plans are to connect Stonebrook directly to the Dallas north tollroad. (more…)

Frisco’s only New Home “Lake” Community is closing out.

The Landing at Waterstone is down to the last 18 lots to build on in Frisco.  This is a very unique location for a new home community in Frisco with oversized, waterfront lots on the shores of Lake Lewisville, three-car garages, and a private community Amenity Center with an extra large pool, workout facilities, a full kitchen, and plenty of resident accessible community space.
