Dallas Stars Host Ladies’ Night

Posted by    |    February 9th, 2012 at 10:10 am

I always take advantage of opportunities where my inner tomboy and flirty girlish sides get to come out to play together. There is one of such opportunities happening this month, Dallas Stars’ Ladies Night.

On February 23, round up all your gal-pals for a unique experience at the American Airlines Center. A $70 ticket gets you behind-the-scenes with a tour of the Dallas Stars’ locker room, then takes you out onto the ice for an unheard of Hockey 101 tutorial with former players. It wouldn’t be a true ladies’ night without some vino running through our veins, right? After cooling off on the ice, warm up with wine tasting and a fabulous fashion show. In addition to these perks, your ticket will also reserve two plaza tickets to the Stars vs. San Jose Sharks game on March 8.

While the festivities are taking place, crazy door prizes are being given away all night. Would you like to cruise around town all weekend in an Audi? Or have a lunch date with Adam Burish (sigh, yes please)? Count me in.

This exclusive event has limited space, so registration is encouraged. Check out or call 214-387-5646 for more information.

Dallas Mavericks Parade Through Downtown

Posted by    |    June 21st, 2011 at 10:37 am

Despite the scorcher on June 16, some 250,000 people showed up to support their Dallas Mavericks as they paraded down Victory Avenue in downtown Dallas in celebration of their NBA championship.  When I say paraded, I mean it literally.  The saying goes, “Everything is bigger in Texas.” Well, let’s just say that this celebration was BIG.

With cars of different kinds and floats decorated to theme, the Mavs road down the street in style.  Cuban led the pack in a black mustang convertible, hoisting the gold trophy over his head. And without a doubt, Dirk Nowitzki was the center of attention with his loyal fans yelling “M-V-P!” as he passed by.

A Look at Victory Park: Game Four 2011 NBA Finals

Posted by    |    June 9th, 2011 at 3:54 pm

Game four of the NBA finals, and I’m in Victory Park, surrounded by rowdy fans in blue, while my Mavs defend their honor just inside the AAC. I’m here tonight asking this rowdy Dallas bunch about their definition of a Mavs fan. Is it someone who owns each player’s jersey? Someone who paints their face for each game? Or is a true Mavs fan someone with unspeakable love for their team?

Each person that I talk to has their own stereotype of what a true Mavs fan looks or acts like. Some said rowdy, some said proud, some said someone who cheers even if the Mavs on win or lose, and some said someone who goes all out. Nothing will give you a better definition of a Mavs fan than standing in Victory Park before the game and letting your eyes stumble upon some of the most wild and crazy outfits ever seen at a professional basketball game. The second best thing to do last night (of course, first being actually inside the AAC) was standing outside the American Airlines Center watching the array of people who came together from all over the nation with one goal in mind: help their Dallas Mavs put out the Heat for the 2011 NBA Championship.
