“If you could change history, would you?” Stephen King asks this question in his new novel, 11/22/63. The book tour kicks off with a benefit for the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas on Thursday, November 10.
11/22/63, which hits shelves November 8, is about a time traveling English teacher who tries to prevent Oswald from aiming that fatal shot. The book, which required an incredible amount of research to accurately portray the late 1950s and early 60s, is a departure for the novelist who is most famous for causing night terrors and goose bumps.
King, who rarely makes charity appearances, made a special exception for this book tour because of how vital the Depository is to the novel and how helpful his trip to the Sixth Floor Museum and the staff of the museum were to the creation of the book.
Tickets are selling fast but you can still grab a program ticket for $40 here. Don’t forget to pre order 11/22/63 on Amazon. And if you just can’t wait until November 8 for your King fix, you can nibble on an excerpt from the novel here.
