A Fun Marketing Conference? Yes, Please.

It’s been an interesting few years for those of us in the marketing industry.  We’ve experienced this massive shift in our universe from traditional media (do you even remember what that is?) to social media….which means not only is information flying at us faster than anyone could have ever imagined, but consumers are expecting this information faster than we could ever imagine delivering it.  (I don’t know about you guys, but I never in a million years thought I would hear myself say something like “we should tweet that” at ALL, let alone 5 times in one meeting.)

Keeping up with the whole “digital marketing” thing can be exhausting – the pressure to hit the ground running and learn how to harness all of these trends for your greater good is enough to give even the most aggressive marketer an anxiety attack.  Thankfully, we have the good people at the DFW AMA to help keep us educated and focused up (and away from those expensive therapists).  With over 600 members and 60+ events per year, they kind of have this whole “professional marketing community” thing down.  Their events have always proven to be insightful and fun, not boring and cheesy like most of the networking events we marketers usually end up attending (and regretting quickly).   (more…)
