Is there anything more inspirational (or more entertaining) than the finale of The Biggest Loser? Really, I could miss a whole
season and still start weeping during the season finale.
The Biggest Loser is headed back to Gilley’s in Dallas to find cast members for their 15th season. The only written requirement for hopefuls: “must have at least 80 pounds to lost.” But surely there’s something more specific these guys are looking for?
We spoke with The Biggest Loser’s amazing casting director Randy Bernstein, cofounder of the full service casting agency Casting Duo, to find out exactly what they’re looking for and (even better) what they’ve seen in the past.
I see that you own, Casting Duo, a full-service casting company where you found memorable reality stars like Christian Siriano (Project Runway) and Top Chef’s Padma Lakshmi. How did you get into the casting business?

I love Archer. The show, about a international spy agency called ISIS and its group of inhumanly narcissistic agents, is a delightfully offensive gem of animation. While watching Archer I often find myself laughing until my stomach hurts and then immediately going “oh man, what’s wrong with me?” For those of you that have watched the show I’m pretty sure you’ve experienced the same phenomenon. But no matter how messed up and offensive this show gets, I can’t stop watching it. It’s too funny and I always need a good laugh.
Well good news, fellow Archer fans, because on June 22nd FX is bringing the Archer, Live! tour to Dallas. The event will feature a moderated discussion, a live reading of classic scenes from the Emmy Award-nominated series, and an audience Q&A with the all-star cast. Talent appearances include H. Jon Benjamin as Agent Sterling Archer, Aisha Tyler as Agent Lana Kane, Jessica Walter as Malory Archer, Chris Parnell as Cyril Figgis, Amber Nash as Pam Poovey, Lucky Yates as Krieger, series creator/executive producer Adam Reed as Agent Ray Gillette and executive producer Matt Thompson. Seeing what these guys do on Archer I bet their as funny if not funnier in person, especially if you get them all in one room together.
Check out Verizon Theater for ticket details.

Remember the dashingly handsome artist behind the Love is Louder anthem who won a trip to the Grammy’s last year? That dashingly handsome gentleman is local musician, Cameron Ernst, and while he may not be looking as handsome or as dashing in this video (or in this picture), it is definitely worth a look.

Ernst and his friend Mark recently entered the Walking Dead “Always One of a Kind” Fan Contest with this video entry. Each video entry must be 60 seconds or shorter and the winners receive a free trip to Los Angeles to meet the cast of The Walking Dead. Free stuff = good stuff.

I’m not going to pretend that the two things that excite me most about Sunday’s Super Bowl aren’t the commercial breaks and the possibility of a Destiny’s Child reunion. But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’ll watch pretty much anything at a watching party. Because really, what’s the point of watching anything if there’s no one next to you to make comments with? None. Exactly.
Here are some Dallas bars and restaurants we think sound like the perfect place to sit with friends, drink some beer, and make comments about the Super Bowl – and Beyonces legs.

Wait. A Sound of Music remake? And it’s live? This is one of those classic movie remakes that I’m really on the fence about. I’m definitely nervous to see my favorite musically gifted German fam updated and recast, but I’m excited to see Carrie Underwood play the leading role. Plus live TV is so exciting. Something tells me Julie Andrews would approve.
Although Carrie’s not the first Idol alum to try their hand at acting, I have no idea if Carrie can actually pull this off. Apparently she’s appeared on “How I Met Your Mother,” but so did Britney Spears.

The NBC musical will be playing on a television near you during the 2013 holiday season.

It seems only fitting that Larry Hagman’s memorial be held at Southfork Ranch. The historic site was a home away from home for the recently deceased actor who had reportedly planned a outing there on the day of his death. The event will be free and open to the public, who can leave notes and flowers throughout the home on Sunday, December 2, 2012.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Texas homestead will offer complimentary tours from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by a memorial reception during which guests can sign a memorial book dedicated to Hagman.

It’s going to be a big year for the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer. Shakira recently announced that she is pregnant with her first child with Spanish soccer star, Gerard Pique, and that she will be joining NBC’s The Voice along with Usher in the spring of 2013 when CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera take a break.
Both Green and Aguilera want to take time to focus on their music careers but are set to return the following season. It was the same situation for Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez with American Idol. The judging panel of The Voice’s future may be uncertain, but for now a pregnant Shakira can do nothing but help the already buzzworthy reality show.
