Ah May. The month of flowers, blue skies, snow cones, chainsaws, bleeding eyeballs, homicidal maniacs….wait what? That’s right Dallas thanks to Texas Frightmare Convention, coming to the Hyatt Regency DFW Hotel, we get a little halloween type horror mixed in with all this spring sunshine (you irony loving hipsters must be just tickled pink).
If you’re a horror movie fan Texas Frightmare Weekend is about give you one of the best weekends ever, filled with vendors, parties, panel discussions, celebrity photo ops and of course tons of movie screenings, filling the Hyatt Regency DFW with blood and terror. But with so much going on I decided to pick out some horror highlights you probably won’t want to miss at this year’s Frightmare Weekend
Pannel Discussion: Are you prepared for the Zombie Apocalypse?
Well are you? Probably not, so Texas Frightmare Weekend has brought in Zombie Response Team to school you on how to keep yourself being zombie chow if the world does ever become over run with the living dead. You’ll learn things like basic zombie apocalypse survival techniques, the right equipment to procure and the most effective group sizes for various zombie apocalypse missions. Don’t forget a pad and pencil, you’ll wanna take notes.
Movie Screenings: 17 of them
It’s gonna be down right horror movie marathon this weekend, and of course it would be at the “premier horror convention” anything less and the Texas Frightmare Weekend wouldn’t be worthy of such a title. Again since there are so many I’m just going to list off a few that I would find myself double fisting some popcorn to.
Some of the screenings will be followed up a Q&A session with the cast and crew, head over here for more information and a complete movie list.
And last but in no way least: DANNY TREJO!!!
That’s right Dallas, this BAMF is going be here this weekend at the Texas Frightmare for photo ops and autographs and maybe even hugs, because I know you want to hug Danny Trejo.
Just so you know this doesn’t even scratch the surface of what’s going down at Texas Frightmare this weekend it’s just some tidbits to whet your appetite. For all the information you’ll need on tickets, celebrity photo ops, vendors and parties go to TexasFrightMareWeekend.com.
So horror fans give yourselves an early Christmas present and pick up a couple of passes and come out and celebrate the genre you know and love with fellow individuals that share your penchant for the suspenseful and bloody.
