You know when you’ve made a commitment to a 5K some Sunday morning laying a big ol’ wet blanket on your entire weekend? Here’s a 5K that will A. not ruin your Saturday night and will B. in fact make your Saturday night.
As long as you like a DJ spinning the latest in EDM, trees whose colors change with music, colored fountains, laser tunnels, red rock cliffs glowing beach balls courtesy of the crews from Coachella and Dreamworks. You know it’s going to be good when it has the same font as the Electric Daisy Carnival. Bring your own light up gear; you’re also part of the show.
The Electric Run is stopping in Dallas’ Fair Park on its national tour on Saturday, January 19 benefitting Leukemia Texas. Tickets are $50 until January 15, $55 until the day of the event, and $65 on the 19. Not bad for an EDM concert you get to run through. Participants get an LED bracelet, glow necklace and sunglasses, and a t-shirt designed Shaun Neff, creator of a headwear empire worn by professional athletes, Lil Wayne, and Snoop Dogg, or Snoop Lion, or whatever.
See you there! I’ll be walking. And staring at trees. For more information, head to ElectricRun.com/Dallas.
