Paramount Pictures announces the Paranormal Activity 4 “Want It” Facebook Campaign.  Fans of the Paranormal Activity film series have been given the power to bring the movie to their city first.  Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom, Inc., will release the fourth installment of the popular horror franchise in only 25 cities around the world based on the turn out of the voting from the new “Want It” application on Facebook.

The “Want It” application uses technology which gives fans the chance to vote for their city to ensure they are one of the top viewing locations. The app uses Facebook users’ location and profile to determine which city gets the vote.  The idea is for votes to be shared on a fan’s page, encouraging friends to join in on the campaign.  A leader board will show the rankings of each city and fans can track the top cities as well as their own.

Paramount hopes to use Facebook and social media to increase the awareness of Paranormal Activity 4 and give audiences the chance to decide screening locations.  The 25 winning cities will receive an early screening of Paranormal Activity before it is released in theaters October 19, 2012.  Paranormal Activity 4 is directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman.  At this time, the plot is unknown.
