In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Watters Creek will “go green” on Saturday, March 17 as they dye the creek that runs through the center green. Don’t miss out on seeing the only creek in Dallas-Fort Worth dyed green in celebration of the Emerald Isle’s most famous holiday.

The safe, non-toxic ingredients used to dye the creek green biodegrade naturally, gradually turning the water to its original color within a week with no harmful effect on wildlife.

In addition to the green creek, Irish festivities will include:

Saturday, March 17

· Enjoy live music from 5 Second Rule on The Green from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

· Lucky Duck Kids Club from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Children ages three to 12 can enjoy several free educational Irish themed hands-on activities from Primrose Schools of East & West Allen.

*All festivities are free and open to the public.

There have been lots of news stories about coyotes, bobcat and raccoon sightings around neighborhoods recently. A lot of times they are looking for shelter/water and come up to the porch for a closer look at what might be waiting for them on your porch.

Some people have taken to feeding wildlife and as a result, they become accustomed to people and will be regular visitors. Animal control recommends eliminating the attractions, like water or food left out for your pets. They ask us to remember that they were here first and to keep our distance.

What is your opinion on wildlife interaction with people?

We were honored to have our YouPlusDallas highlight reel of the final game in the old Allen Eagle Stadium against Flower Mound presented at the banquet. Allen won the game 59-30 and seeing the fans, players, band and cheerleaders in the video that night made the last game a very special night and great memory for all.

When they are not at the office, Allen residents have plenty to do right at home. Allen has a symphony, a ballet, multiple malls, and a minor league hockey team.

Parents appreciate the top-rated school system and low crime rate. Their children appreciate the MTV-featured “The Edge” – one of the largest outdoor skate parks in the nation.

The Allen Eagle Football program is currenty rated #4 in the ESPN poll in the nation. The band practically takes up the entire field during football game half-time show. With premier new homes being built nearby, Allen, TX is a sight to see. It is no wonder why Allen tops CNN Money’s 2010 list as a best place to live in the nation.
